Un señor que conduce y de repente se queda ciego, pero no una ceguera normal: en un abrir y cerrar de ojos lo ve todo blanco. En su desesperación, acude a varias personas para consolarse ante tal desgracia…
La consecuencia es que todo aquel que ha tenido contacto, por mínimo que sea, con ese señor, se vuelve igualmente ciego.
Una ceguera blanca se expande de manera fulminante. Internados en cuarentena o perdidos por la ciudad, los ciegos deben enfrentarse a lo más primitivo de la especie humana: la voluntad de sobrevivir a cualquier precio.
Comentario: En ser humano en su máxima expresión primitiva o "animal" por llamarlo de alguna manera, mezquindad, avaricia, falta de conciencia, crueldad, pánico, miedo, incertidumbre, angustia, esta novela muestra y pone en evidencia lo que muchos llevamos "dentro" y que ante la situación sale a la luz "a la vista de todos" muestra una sociedad que no duda en sobrevivir a costa de los demás, esté libro sin duda transforma la perspectiva de la vida; de manera personal lo hizo, ¿Qué harias tú si estuvieras en esta situación?
